Hyderabad: Telangana unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has called for a 'school bandh' throughout the state on Tuesday, July 5. Kamal Suresh, who is the Joint Secretary of ABVP Telangana, stated the reason behind the same. He said that the government has not yet provided books to the school children even after 20 days of reopening of the schools.
Regarding the same issue, a press meet was held in the state on July 4. ABVP Telangana unit said, "The government is seriously neglecting the government schools."
In addition to this issue, the ABVP had other demands as well. They demanded the implementation of the Fee Control Act in Hyderabad along with a better infrastructure of schools. Moreover, they also demanded that all the illegal cases against the leaders of ABVP be withdrawn.
To demand the regular provision of Urdu and English textbooks, school uniforms, and other basic facilities, a dharna was also held at the district collector's office.
