OJEE 2022: 85 per cent turnout on first day of exam

Around 85 per cent turnout of examinees was recorded on the first day of the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE-2022) held on Monday. On the first day, students appear for lateral entry to BTech (LE Tech diploma) subject.
BHUBANESWAR: Around 85 per cent turnout of examinees was recorded on the first day of the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE-2022) held on Monday. On the first day, students appear for lateral entry to BTech (LE Tech diploma) subject. This examination will continue till July 8.

Total 19,150 candidates had registered with the OJEE to appear for the first day of the test, but 16,270 of them attended the examination for lateral entry to BTech. “We have recorded 85 per cent turnout on the first day,” said OJEE chairman SK Chand.

Examinations are being conducted in three shifts per day. First shift started from 9am and continued till 11am, while second shift was conducted between 12.30pm and 2.30pm. The last shift timing was 4pm-6pm.

“This computer-based test is conducted like JEE Main. Around 58,000 students are appearing for the entrance tests in 61 centres covering all the 30 districts. Outside Odisha, examination centres have been arranged in Kolkata, Ranchi and Patna,” he added.
Chand said they have taken all precautions and Covid-19 protocols of the government in examination centres. “The OJEE was conducted smoothly across the state and outside,” he added.


On Tuesday, examinations will be conducted for MCA/MSc (computer science) in the first two shifts and the third shift will have tests for MTech (11 subjects), M Arch, M Plan, M Pharm and BCAT.


On July 6, tests will be held for MBA in two shifts and the last shift will have examinations for integrated MBA, lateral entry to Pharmacy and other courses. On July 7, students will appear for integrated MBA and LE Tech (diploma) in the first shift. Tests for B Pharma will be conducted on July 8 in the first two shifts. Last shift has no examinations, said the official sources.
