PUNE: The Bund Garden police have registered a non-cognisable (NC) offence against a passenger of a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) e-bus for assaulting the conductor and damaging a window glass pane of the vehicle by throwing a stone at it at Bolhai Chowk near Sassoon General Hospital around 1.15 pm on Sunday, after the bus conductor asked the man to buy a ticket.
Police inspector Ashwini Satpute said, “The newly introduced e-bus was heading towards Nigdi. Bus conductor Yogesh Ashru Sutar (36) lodged the complaint. The bus passenger (30) is a native of Karmala in Solapur district.”
Sutar told TOI, “There were around 35 passengers on board. This man boarded the bus at the railway station. I asked him to buy a ticket, but he refused and said he was a policeman. When I asked to see his ID card, he issued threats. I insisted that he buy a ticket. He punched me and I raised an alarm. The driver halted and I asked the troublemaker to disembark. As soon as he alighted, he picked up a stone and hit the glass pane, damaging it. No passengers were injured.”
