Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 5.52%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 4.47%), AVADHSUGAR(up 2.14%), & Chemicals(up 2.11%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 1.63%), BAJAJHIND(up 1.54%), Rana Sugars(up 1.53%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 1.25%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 1.17%) and Shree Renuka Sugars(up 1.10%) stood among the top gainers.
EID Parry(down 2.02%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 24.5 points down at 15810.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 100.42 points at 53134.35.
Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.64%), Shree Cement(up 1.42%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.4%), Enterprises(up 1.25%), Bajaj Finserv(up 1.2%), Hindustan Unilever(up 1.11%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.11%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.91%), Tata Motors(up 0.87%) and Reliance Industries(up 0.81%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, ITC(down 1.71%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.65%), Wipro(down 1.59%), Britannia Industries(down 1.18%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.12%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.06%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.03%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.96%), Axis Bank(down 0.89%) and Asian Paints(down 0.85%) closed in the red.
