On this Independence Day weekend in San Diego, license plates from all over US are mixing together on local freeways.

For the locals however, the extra traffic might be a bit annoying. One expert of the local hospitality said that it’s a plus for tourism.

Justin Jansen, a traveler said that take pleasure in San Diego’s awesome climate and interact with the locals and enjoy bike riding. Justin also added that honestly, they are getting prepared to go on bike rides in San Diego.

Jansen has come from Arizona. For the holiday weekend, he traveled to San Diego with his family.

For the tourism industry of San Diego, leisure travelers like them are a good positive sign particularly after the pandemic, as per Robert Rauch who spent over 40 years in hospitality.

He stated that what the San Diegans are seeing now are majorly leisure tourists.

As per the data, in hotel rates nationally, San Diego ranked third for the week of June 25th.

Rauch said that they’ve held rate since they are a drive market. They don’t depend on air travel even though they have it maximum. Still, the drive travel is strong in spite of the rising gas prices. As Jansen selected to put in an Airbnb than a hotel, he stated that it was easier to drive with his family.

Arizona is roughly a five and a half-hours drive. It averages to be one hundred bucks in here and a hundred bucks there, he said.
