Mumbai has been witnessing heavy rain amid monsoon arrival. As downpour lashed the city on Monday, the maximum city witnessed scenes of waterlogging and traffic congestion in several areas. Meanwhile, IMD has issued a red alert for 2 districts.
Railway stations at Sion, Kurla, Tilak Nagar and Wadala areas in the Central Railway route were inundated. "There is water in tracks at some locations...trains are being run at a cautious speed and we are continuously monitoring the situation," an official said.
Two teams of NDRF have been deployed in Kolhapur, Mumbai after a yellow alert of heavy rains in the ghat areas today was issued.

Due to an accident at the Mankhurd Railway bridge, south-bound vehicular movement is slow. Our Traffic police personnel are at the location to ease the traffic.
Due to 1.5 ft of water logging, vehicular movement is slow at Sakkar Panchayat Chowk, Wadala.

A landslide incident was reported on Tuesday morning in Ghatkopar's Panchsheel Nagar in Mumbai amidst heavy rains, informed Mumbai Fire Brigade.
A house was badly damaged in the landslide. However, no casualties have been reported so far.

The IMD on Tuesday issued a heavy rainfall alert for Maharashtra over the next four days. The IMD has issued an 'orange alert' for south Konkan region and Goa and a 'yellow alert' for north Konkan, north central and south central Maharashtra and Marathwada regions. The MeT department issues four colour-coded predictions based on the prevailing weather systems. The green colour indicates no warning, yellow is to keep a watch, orange is to stay alert, while red means a warning and that action needs to be taken. The Marathwada region is likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, heavy rain and gusty winds with a speed of 40-50 kmph, the IMD said.

The Kundalika river in Raigad district has crossed danger level while other rivers in Konkan region are flowing close to the danger level. This includes Ulhas river in Thane district.

The weather department has issued an orange alert warning for Mumbain and Thane districts predicting heavy rains at isolated places till Friday. As per the colour codes followed by the authorities, an 'orange' alert means to 'stay prepared'.
Waterlogging was also seen at Khandeshwar Railway Station in Navi Mumbai as commuters navigated their way through ankle-deep waters.
Pictures tweeted by news agency ANI showed the roads of Sion road flooded with water with no person or running vehicle in sight.
