NOIDA: Noida Police detained Zee News anchor Rohit Ranjan from his house in Ghaziabad's Indirapuram on Tuesday for airing 'doctored' video of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
On Tuesday morning around 5am, a team of seven Chhattisgarh Police officers reached Ranjan's house to arrest him with a warrant. Later, Ranjan tweeted that without informing the local police, Chhattisgarh police arrived outside his house to arrest him.

After the tweet, UP Police didn't waste any time and a team of Ghaziabad police reached his house. Police found that not even a single Chhattisgarh Police officer was in uniform. UP police checked their ID cards and an argument broke out between cops of the two states.
Abhay Kumar Mishra, circle officer of Indirapuram, said that we got a call on 112 helpline that some people had snatched mobile phone of the security guard and asked them to sit at the corner of the building.
"Even when Ghaziabad police reached, Chhattisgarh Police officers were not wearing police uniform and the nameplate in the uniform was also missing," he said.
After an hour, Noida police also reached and caught Ranjan after Zee News had made a complaint over the facts going wrong about Rahul Gandhi during a show on the channel.
A scuffle between UP Police and Chhattisgarh Police broke out when Noida Police was going with Ranjan. The video of the scuffle also went viral.
Ranvijay Singh, ADCP of Noida Police, on Tuesday registered an FIR against some Zee News employees under Section 505 (Statements conducing to public mischief) of IPC.
