Ahmedabad sees more discharges than new Covid cases

AHMEDABAD: The daily Covid cases continued downward journey in the city and the state. On Monday, the city recorded 150 new cases compared to 203 on Sunday, a drop of 26%. For Gujarat, the drop was 8% from 456 to 419. It was after 37 days for Ahmedabad and 42 days for Gujarat that the discharges of the patients were higher than the new cases, thereby reducing the active cases.
Ahmedabad had 1,525 active cases and Gujarat 3,512. The state also recorded death of an active case in Mehsana, taking the death toll to 10,948.
Other cities recorded almost similar cases compared to Sunday — Surat recorded 87, Vadodara 28, Bhavnagar 16, and Gandhinagar 10. Gujarat in 24 hours administered 8,391 first doses of Covid vaccine.
