Cassper remembers Riky Rick in heartfelt post

Award-winning rapper Cassper Nyovest, real name Refiloe Phoolo, has opened up about missing his friend, Riky Rick.

Riky Rick, real name Rikhado Makhado, died by suicide in February. He was 34.

"I think about Riky Rick every single day. Not a single day can go past without me thinking about him," he wrote on social media.

In response to another post, the Siyathandana said he loved Makhado. "I love this video. Rest in [sic] peace to the most beautiful man I ever met. We love you, Riky," he wrote.

Shortly after Makhado's death his family said the Boss Zonke hitmaker was deeply loved in a press statement.

"Affectionately known as Riky Rick across the globe, he was deeply loved by his family, friends, and the entire entertainment industry," the family said. "His love for family, friends, and community is well known. Riky's nurturing and developing of young musical talent is well documented and will forever be remembered."

Makhado left behind his wife, two children, mother, and five siblings.

In her first interview, with Olwethu Leshabane, after his death, his wife, Bianca Naidoo, spoke about how Makhado was always looking for ways to give the youth a voice so they could "one day earn a seat at the table."

"He selflessly dedicated a lot of his time, his energy, and his focus to helping develop and mentor youth," she said. "It was hugely important for him to find ways to help them elevate themselves and to grow."
