Thane: As the rains have intensified in the last two days and the meteorological department has issued an orange alert, as per the instructions given by Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) is ready to tackle any situation. On Tuesday, under the guidance of TMC chief Dr. Vipin Sharma the officials from civic body were on the roads to check the situation.
Sharma ordered to resolve the grievances of the citizens as a matter of priority during the rainy season and additional municipal commissioner Sandeep Malvi and additional commissioner Sanjay Herwade along with senior officials inspected various places in the city.
Sandeep Malvi during the visit instructed the concerned to pay special attention to clean all the drainages and also check that water does not get logged in low lying areas of the city, dangerous buildings and trees should not fall and there should be no loss of life and property.
Malvi also directed the concerned to pump out the water in the places where water is logged in the backdrop of heavy rains and also to remove the fallen trees, tree branches and debris on the roads immediately.
