Guwahati: 1 more dies, toll 180

GUWAHATI: One person died, raising the toll to this year’s devastating floods to 180, even as the flood situation showed improvement with the number of affected people reducing to 13.71 lakh on Monday from the previous day’s figure of 18.35 lakh.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority evening bulletin said the death was reported from Cachar district and it was due to flood. The number of districts hit by flood has dipped to 24, and 1,344 villages still remain flood-hit across 58 revenue circles, the bulletin said.
