With more than two months of the monsoon season still remaining, the roads of the twin city experiencing stints of heavy rainfall in the past couple of days are already riddled with a countless number of multi-sized potholes.

It is difficult to analyze whether there are potholes on the road or whether the road itself is a pothole.

The entire road work tender process smells of corruption as questions are being raised regarding the “defect liability period” clause applicable to contractors.

The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) claims to have spent crores of rupees towards bettering its road infrastructure, however, the promise of pot-hole-free roads never holds up much during rains. Motorists and pedestrians suffer every year during monsoon from the pathetic civic conditions.
