Gandhi Nagar police in Bhopal have unfolded the blind murder case within 12 hours and have arrested the accused from Gairatganj in Raisen district, said the police on Tuesday.

The police have announced the award of Rs 10,000 on his head.

Police station in-charge Arun Sharma told media that a body of a woman was found near the nullaha on Monday morning. She was identified as a Shabana (24). The police registered the case under section 302, 201 of IPC and started the investigations.

When the police started the investigations they came to know that she was living with one Asif Khan who runs a chicken shop and presently he is missing.

The police launched the manhunt and got the information that he is hiding at one of his friend in Gairatganj. The police team was formed and was sent to arrest the accused.

The police identified the house and arrested the accused hiding in the house. The police presented the accused into the court.

The police also added that that Shabana was got married with Ansar Khan and they are having two and half year-old girl.

“Six months ago, Shabana announced that she wanted to live with Asif who is the younger brother of her husband. On this Ansar left them and migrated to other state in search of work”. He added.

The police added that the victim suspects that Asif who also runs a chicken shop, is having relations with the other women in the locality and on this issue they were having dispute.

On Sunday again both of them had heated arguments and allegedly Asif killed the victim with the knife from which he chops chicken. He dumped the body near the nullaha at around 2 am, hoping that water current may drain the body from the spot, but it did not happen.

In the morning, the passersby informed the police about the body which was seized and was sent to the hospital for autopsy.
