LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, who completed 100 days of his second tenure on Monday, said that BJP's repeated victories in all elections, from the assembly polls to Vidhan Parishad elections, followed by the bypolls to two Lok Sabha seats, was a testimony to the faith that people have deposed in the administration of his government.
Emphasizing on the government's commitment to 'service, security and good governance', the CM said that the work done by his government during the first 100 days had set the tone for what was to be expected over the next five years. "In 2017, the first cabinet decided on the farmer loan waiver and in 2022, the first cabinet extended the free ration distribution to 15 crore poor people," he said.
"After the assembly polls, there was an election for 36 seats in the Vidhan Parishad. BJP won 33 of those while the remaining three were won by independents. All other political parties were reduced to zero. After 87 years, the Vidhan Parishad has finally become Congress "mukt". In two Lok Sabha bypolls, seats which were won by SP in 2019, BJP registered an impressive win. On March 25, 2022 our government took oath. It is for the first time in the history of UP that a government has completed its five years and has been re-elected, a CM completed his tenure and returned to power," Yogi said.
Highlighting the agenda for his government in the coming years, the CM said that UP had an important role to play in ensuring India's growth. As part of that strategy, the cabinet had identified 10 sectors in the state for which a detailed plan has been charted out and which will help propel UP's economy to USD 1 trillion. Crediting 'teamwork' for the success of his previous government, the CM said that teamwork will also form the basis of the next five years of governance in UP. Groups of ministers had been formed which had by now visited two commissioneries each in the past 100 days, holding Janata Chaupals and inspecting projects.
