30th Governing Council reviews working of SMVD Gurukul, announces fellowship schemes

Mahamandleshwar Shri Swami Vishveshvaranand Giriji Maharaj, Member of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Chairman of the Governing Council for the Gurukul, chaired the meeting, which was attended by Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board; Navneet Singh, Additional CEO; Padam Shree Prof Vishwamurti Shastri and others.

Besides, it directed Administrator to furnish a proposal for further deliberation on distribution of seats for the selection of top 10 students at Shastri Level, Increase in intake capacity of the students from 20 to 30 in Class 6th during the upcoming session 2023-24 also deliberated and while taking a holistic view, it was decided that the same shall be done after taking comprehensive review of all aspects.
The GC directed that preparation of Annual magazine be entrusted to an editorial team comprising students from Shastri Part –III headed by Principal in consultation with Administrator, SMVD Gurukul.
Earlier GC was informed that the Gurukul has not only achieved 100 percent pass percentage but two students were awarded the prestigious Vakratund Shukal Swaran Padak (Gold Medal) and Shrimati Shashikala Sharma Swaran Padak (Gold Medal) by the Chancellor, Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi. It was also informed that Vakratund Shukal Swaran Padak (Gold Medal) has been retained by the SMVD Gurukul since 2012 onwards and other achievements.
The Chairman expressed deep satisfaction over the management initiatives and functioning of the institute which was established by SMVDSB in 2010 to maintain high standards and foster academic excellence.
