Mysuru: Varuna MLA Yathindra Siddaramaiah on Monday stated that he is ready to vacate his constituency of Varuna for his father and former chief minister Siddaramaiah.
“However, I will never fight from Chamundeshwari assembly segment. I will work for the victory of my father, if he opts for Varuna segment,” he stated.
Speaking to reporters in the city, he stated that if people wished and the party decides, Siddaramaiah can contest from the Varuna constituency. “There is no truth in the news that I will move to Chamundeshwari constituency if my father contests from Varuna,” he stated.
A lot of time left for the election. He has invitations from many constituencies. Siddaramaiah and high command will take a final decision on the matter, he said. He also made it clear that Siddaramaiah’s 75th birthday celebrations are not a show of strength. “Don’t search for political significance in it,” he said. TNN
