Mysuru: Director general of police (training) P Ravindranath on Saturday advised probationary trainee woman police constables to hone their skills to advance in their careers.
Speaking at the passing out parade of the seventh batch of woman police constables (civil), Railways, and Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) at District Armed Reserve Grounds in Jyothinagar, the DGP told them to work with the same enthusiasm they have displayed while taking part march-past throughout their service.
The DGP briefed how the advancement of technology has improved policing in the state and informed the probationers that it is constables who implement all the directives of officers. “Being in the forefront of the department, your role is crucial in policing,” he said.
In the current batch, barring seven candidates, the rest of the total 116 trainees are graduates and postgraduates. The minimum qualification to join the department as a constable is pre-university education. Of late, highly qualified candidates are entering the police department.
The best trainees were presented with trophies by the DGP on the occasion. R Priyanka bagged the best all-around probationer award.
Police Training School principal HT Shekar and Karnataka Police Academy director Anupam Agarwal were present.
