Gurugram: The city reported 241 new cases of
Covid on Saturday, a dip of around 8% in the number of cases from the previous day when 263 new cases were recorded. With the drop in number of cases, the test positivity rate has also come down to 5.9% from 6.2% on Friday.
Gurugram currently has 1,165 active cases, of whom 22 are hospitalised. The city has also reported 201 recoveries, increasing the tally of recoveries to 2,81,105.
“We are witnessing a definite decline in the number of new cases. However, we will continue to organise testing camps in the city. We were earlier setting up 25 camps every day and now with the drop in the number of cases we will still have at least 20 camps daily,” said Virender Yadav, chief medical officer.
The health department official said that the private and government healthcare institutions tested 4,062 people in the last 24 hours.
Haryana meanwhile logged 412 new cases of Covid. The highest number of cases were reported in Gurugram, followed by Faridabad (52) and then Panchkula (34). The test positivity rate in the state is 2.9% and it currently has 2,532 active cases.
