A traveller from Haryana, who was drunk, was saved by City Patrol Unit and water police after he fell into the Ganga river from Satnam Ghat in Haridwar.
The passenger was reportedly walking on the railing built on the banks of Ganga Ghat in a drunken state and fell into the river as his foot slipped. During this, the traveller caught the chain of Prem Nagar Ashram after drifting a short distance.
"There are barricades for protection of people, but they cross over. The Flow was high & he went with current but caught hold of another chain. Police reached in minimal time & rescued him," City SP said.
