One more dead in Assam floods, 2.77 lakh people in relief camps

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, over 22 lakh people remain affected in 27 districts of the state.
GUWAHATI: One person died in the floods at Sonai in Assam’s Cachar district in the last 24 hours while 2.77 lakh people are still taking shelter in the relief camps on Saturday. The death toll due to floods and landslide on Saturday stood at 174.
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, over 22 lakh people remain affected in 27 districts of the state.
The Brahmaputra river and three of its major tributaries — Kopili, Disang and Burhidihing rivers — are all flowing above the danger level.
