Indore (Madhya Pradesh): On the weekend, too, teams of district election officials and Indore Municipal Corporation organised camps at six places in the city on Sunday with the aim of motivating voters to come out and vote in larger numbers in the urban body elections, 2022.
Officials said the citizens showed enthusiasm for voting and eagerly gave time to the camps set up at Rajwada, Chhappan Dukaan, Palasia Square, Vijay Nagar Square, Bada Ganpati Square and Mhow Naka.
Many citizens asked the staff questions related to the elections which were made clear to them along with their awareness being raised about the facts related to voting process and EVMs.
Officials said the main aim of these camps was to make citizens aware of EVM machines. The district election department and IMC are campaigning through various mediums to motivate voters to come out and vote.
Officials added that, at the camps, the public were told how voting is done, how the EVM machine works and other matters. A demo of casting votes through EVMs was also held for the people.
