Narmadapuram (Madhya Pradesh): Licence of three firearm holders has been cancelled for thrashing officials on panchayat poll duty and manhandling with police personnel at a polling booth in Seoni Malwa. The action was taken after an FIR was lodged against 15 people including a BJP leader Varun Patel Rahuvanshi for disrupting the election process in the polling station number 143 of village Bankabedi.
BJP leader Patel along with his supporters named Jaswant Raghuvanshi, Siddharth Raghuvanshi, Shivam Raghuvanshi, Lakki Rathore, Sant Kumar Daroi and others attacked presiding officers Ratnesh Tiwari, Gaurav Prajapati and other poll staff when they refused their demand of recounting after a candidate’s defeat in Janpad panchayat polls. They had also snatched ballot boxes and tore ballot papers. According to the information received, action has also been taken to cancel the arms licences of Jaswant Raghuvanshi, Devi Singh Raghuvanshi and Rajendra Raghuvanshi in this case.
