Many schools may declare holidays as RTO set to acquire 400 buses for polls

The RTO has already started acquiring small vehicles and the acquisition of buses will take place on Monday and they will be sent to the polling material distribution centre on July 5.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Following the demand of election commission officials, Indore RTO will acquire about 400 buses for ferrying the polling parties during urban body elections starting July 4.

The RTO has already started acquiring small vehicles and the acquisition of buses will take place on Monday and they will be sent to the polling material distribution centre on July 5. The acquisition of buses, however, would also affect the studies in schools for two days due to which many schools would remain closed on July 5 and 6.

“As per the demand of the election commission, we will acquire about 400 buses and small vehicles for ferrying poll parties to the polling station and back. We have already informed the bus operators and school directors for the same and acquisition of buses would be done on July 4 so that the buses to be sent to stations from polling material distribution centres on Tuesday,” RTO Jitendra Raghuvanshi said.

Meanwhile, DPC Akshay Singh told the media that polling stations would be made in various government and private schools due to which these schools will remain closed for two days i.e. July 5 and 6.
