AHMEDABAD: A 16-year-old boy from Vastrapur on Thursday stabbed his classmate in the chest with a knife at a coaching institute in Satellite over a six-month-old dispute.
A 40-year-old man from Satellite, who runs a a glass products business, filed an FIR stating that his 16-year-old son is in Class 11 commerce at a Memnagar school, and used to go to a coaching institute in Satellite six months ago.
The complainant said his son and his friend went to the same institute on Thursday evening. After a while, the complainant received a phone from his son's friend, who told him his son had been attacked by a classmate.
When the complainant reached the spot, his son pointed to his classmate, 16, gesturing that he had stabbed him on the left side of his chest and cut his wrist.
The complainant approached the boy but he and three others also assaulted the injured boy's father. Later, the injured boy and his father were taken to a private hospital on SG Road.
Inspector D B Mehta of Satellite police said that both the boys had a dispute over some computer-related academic issues six months ago and had got into heated arguments. The boy who suffered injuries on Thursday, had allegedly thrashed his classmate at the time.
Since then, the other boy decided he would avenge that and got three other boys with him and attacked him with a knife.
Mehta said when a Satellite police team went to the accused's house, they found that he and his family had fled.
