Now, Aam Aadmi Party also jumped into the issue and announced that thousands of party workers will also agitate at Aarey On Sunday at 10 pm.

"The protests will be flagged off by reading Hanuman Chalisa to seek god's intervention to Save Aarey and Save Mumbai. AAP also appealed to Mumbaikars to participate in the protest," said Priti Sharma -Menon, AAP Mumbai president.

During Devendra Fadnavis's regime, a decision was taken to construct a Metro 3 car shed at Aarey. At that time, many organisations, citizens and environmentalists protested against cutting trees and construction of car shed. After high court permissions trees had been cut in the night. Thereafter, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Mahavikas Aghadi government stayed the car shed work and tried to transfer the metro car shed at Kanjurmarg but it stuck because of land ownership.

Now, citizens and environmentalists decided to protest wherein AAP also jumped.

Mumbai Chairman, Priti Sharma-Memon told FPJ, "We will not allow them to take one-inch Aarey land. We need a metro but the car shed should be constructed at Kanjurmarg car shed. If we save Arey forest then we could save Mumbai."
