Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A one-day training programme was organised for Paralegal Volunteers in the district court auditorium, Indore, under the principal district and sessions judge and chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Subodh Kumar Jain. District judge and secretary, DLSA, Manish Kumar Srivastava was a special guest on this occasion.
District legal aid officer Digvijay Singh said the chief guest, principal judge Jain, informed the Paralegal Volunteers about the increasing scope of work of paralegal volunteers and their role in the implementation of legal services schemes.
He urged them to work as a bridge between institutions and persons in need of legal aid. He stressed that there was a need for volunteers to spread more about the alternative dispute resolution system among the public so that the person who has got into a dispute can get cheap, simple and speedy justice.
District judge Shrivastava said about the Free Legal Aid/Advice Scheme, Crime Victims’ Compensation Scheme, Acid Attack Victims’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Scheme, Jan Upyogi Lok Adalat, National Lok Adalat and other schemes. He also answered questions raised by the attendees in the programme.
