Rajkot: Teen tied to tree, disrobed and thrashed

RAJKOT: A 19-year-old boy of Khadvavdi village of Jasdan taluka in Rajkot district was kidnapped, disrobed, tied to a tree in a farm and beaten mercilessly on suspicion of love affair.
Victim Dharmesh Makwana, who was later shifted to Rajkot civil hospital for treatment, registered a police complaint on the torture against three perpetrators.
Based on his complaint, Bhadla police of Rajkot rural booked accused Sagar Vaghabhai Makwana, Prakash Vaghabhai Makwana, and Sagar Kanubhai Makwana under various sections of IPC.
Makwana said that the accused are his distant relatives. At around 9pm on Thursday, when he was standing near a paan shop in his village Khadvavdi, the trio forced him to sit in their SUV and took him around many villages like Gadhadiya, Bhandariya, Bhupgadh, Golida, Sardhar, Kharachiya while thrashing him inside the moving car.
“While beating me up, Prakash kept asking me why did I talk to his sister Kirti and also why did she look at me in the market,” Makwana told the police, adding that he was taken to a farm in Bhangda village.
There, the victim claims he was disrobed and tied to a tree where the trio flogged him with a thick wooden bat and leather belts till Makwana fainted. “They threatened that they will kill me if I ever talk to Kirti again,” he said adding that he was dumped in the outskirts of the village.
