Gurugram, at present, has 1,124 active cases, of which 27 patients are hospitalised. The health department conducted 4,051 tests on Thursday, compared to 4,441 on Wednesday.
According to the department’s data, the city recorded 100-150 new cases daily between June 1 and 8.
Daily Covid cases shot up to over 200 on an average between June 9 and 14 while over 300 cases have been reported from June 15.
“Cases are likely to increase in the coming days. We are keeping a close watch on the hospitalsation cases as deaths due to the infection might also occur,” Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer, Gurugram said.
The city has reported a total of 8,046 cases so far this month, compared to 7,619 cases in May and 5,894 in April.
Haryana, meanwhile, witnessed 534 new cases on Thursday. The state now has 2,590 active cases and the positivity rate is 3.8%.
