The NSE Nifty index ended the session 28.2 points down at 15752.05, while BSE Sensex fell 111.01 points to 52907.93.
In the Nifty index, .(up 3.97 per cent), .(up 3.96 per cent), .(up 3.57 per cent), .(up 3.50 per cent) and .(up 3.40 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
On the other hand, .(down 13.53 per cent), .(down 7.20 per cent), .(down 2.55 per cent), .(down 2.21 per cent) and .(down 1.68 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
