PATNA: New Covid-19 cases continue to rise in the state, with 186 people testing positive on Thursday, including 90 cases from
Patna. In the past one month, the active cases have increased 24.2 times with 993 cases at present in the state.
As per the data shared by the state health department, out of total 993 active cases in the state, maximum 604 were in Patna. While the data for June 1 shows that Bihar had 41 active cases then and Patna had 22 cases. This means active cases in Patna have multiplied by nearly 28 times, more than the state average.
The data for June 10 shows that there were 72 active cases in Bihar, while in Patna there were 51 active cases. In the next ten days on June 20, the active cases increased to 312 in Bihar and 187 in Patna. This figure in the next ten days on June 30 has finally reached 993 for Bihar and 604 for Patna. Apart from Patna, Bhagalpur had second highest active cases with 58 people yet to recover, followed by Muzaffarpur (45) and Gaya (42).
Of these active cases, 25 are admitted in different government hospitals, while rest cases are under home isolation. Also, the report of genome sequencing shows the majority of the cases being registered are of Omicron variant.
As far as new cases registered on Thursday are concerned, Patna was at the top with 90 cases, followed by Bhagalpur with 15 new cases, Gaya (11), Khagaria (7) and Muzaffarpur (6).
Total new cases were recorded against 125179 samples tested in past 24 hours. Meanwhile, 126 people had also recovered during this period in Bihar.
