Three suicides reported in Udupi

Udupi: In separate incidents, three persons died by suicide, at various places in the district on Thursday. A 22-year-old software professional committed suicide at Innanje in Kapu village. The deceased is Sharmila, who was working in a software company in Bengaluru. Police said Sharmila was suffering from depression. She had returned home on a month-long holiday, at 7.45am on Thursday. Later, her body was found in a well near the house. A case of unnatural death was recorded at Kapu police station.
In another case, a 43-year-old tailor committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling of the bedroom, at Beejadi village in Koteshwara, in Kundapur on Thursday. The deceased is Suresh, who was undergoing treatment for mental illness. Kundapur police registered an unnatural death case. Meanwhile, a 43-year-old coolie died by suicide at his house in Karavali Shiroor, near Byndoor on Thursday. The deceased is Durgappa Mogera. Police said Mogera was mentally upset due to alcoholism. Byndoor police registered a case.
