
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Reiterating commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for ‘clean city - green city’, BJP released manifesto for civic body elections in the state on Friday.
The BJP candidates contesting elections in 16 municipal corporations, 76 municipalities and 255 city panchayats of the state, took a pledge to make their city clean, safe, beautiful and green by planting sapling of development.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “Before voting on July 6, our candidates are taking resolution and as public representatives, they will fulfill Prime Minister's vision of clean environment by making their ward, their city and the state green.”
Chouhan said, “Green resolution taken by our candidates is not limited only to environment but it is a resolution for development. This is a resolution to develop one’s ward, city.”
He further said that loans would be made available for street vendors who would be provided secured space in every municipal corporation. “We will ensure place for poor in the heart of every city. We will make cities clean and safe.”
State president VD Sharma said, “Today is historic day. Before being elected as public servant, our candidates can make their city and town green and clean by planting saplings.”
“Madhya Pradesh has worked effectively under Prime Minister's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Many cities of the state brought laurels as a clean city. Similarly, we will also work to protect environment,” Sharma added.
Speaking further, he said that resolution letter was not only confined to development but also to protect the environment.
