Mhow: Cantt board gives 3 days to stop using single-use plastic

The campaign was aimed at informing the shopkeepers that according to the rules, the use of single-use plastic has been banned and contravening the rule would lead to punitive action.

Mhow (Madhya Pradesh): The Health Department of the Cantonment Board launched a campaign on Friday in the city to stop the use of single-use plastic in the city.

The campaign was aimed at informing the shopkeepers that according to the rules, the use of single-use plastic has been banned and contravening the rule would lead to punitive action. This information was given by Cantonment Board Health Inspector Anil Bhati on Friday.

The shopkeepers were asked to stop the use of single-use plastic and instead use cloth bags. The cloth bags prepared by a foundation were distributed among the shopkeepers and merchants. Bhati warned that the traders have three days to completely stop the usage of plastic bags. The Cantonment Board would take appropriate action against the erring establishment after the grace period.

Pithampur (Mhow): Co-worker rapes 23-yr-old

A case of rape of a 23-year-old girl has been lodged at the Pithampur Police Station Sector 1.

According to the information both the girl and the accused Govind used to work in a company. The accused offered to drop the girl home on his motorcycle but instead took her to his room and raped her. After which the girl went to the police station and lodged a complaint. She said that the youth threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the rape. The police have registered a case against the accused under Sections 376,342 and 506 of the IPC and are searching for the accused who is absconding.
