Ahmedabad: Mobile eye clinic project for poor launched

AHMEDABAD: Project Disha, a mobile eye clinic for the poor, was launched at KD Hospital on Thursday. Dr Ketan Desai, former president of the World Medical Association (WMA), inaugurated the initiative. The clinic travelled to Mehsana for the first eye check-up camp. On the first day, 453 patients were screened and 71 recommended surgeries or further treatment. Dr Anuja Desai, executive director of KD Hospital, said the project was her long-cherished dream.
