GURUGRAM: As schools across
Haryana reopen after the summer break from Friday, the government has revised the timings in the wake of change in weather conditions. According to the directive, schools will hold offline sessions for classes 1 to 12 from 8am to 2.30pm. In May, school timings were curtailed to prevent students from falling sick due to intense heatwave condition.
In a recent notification by the directorate of state education, the department has notified that all schools in the state can end their summer break and resume the 2022-23 academic session from July 1 onwards. Schools have been directed to reschedule their academic calendar based on the revised timings.
“In continuation with the summer break orders notified on May 26, the schools have to reopen for the 2022-23 academic session from July 1 onwards. All schools are being notified that school timings have been revised. The timings of schools will be from 8am to 2.30 pm and it will remain the same for both students and teachers…” read the order released on Wednesday.
The revised timings have been issued in the light of change in weather conditions. Before the summer break was announced in May, the school timings had been cut short due to heatwave conditions. “In May, school timings were curtailed to prevent students from falling sick due to intense heatwave condition. Now, when schools are reopening, the weather conditions have changed. Thus, it was required to release a fresh schedule to bring uniformity in the operation of all government and private schools,” said a senior education department official. While all government schools will reopen from July 1, private schools will gradually resume the session.
