Weapon supplier held, cops probe ‘links’ with Moose Wala’s murder

Ludhiana: The crime investigating agency-II (CIA-II) of Ludhiana police has arrested a man who had allegedly given weapons to sharpshooters who might be involved in the murder of Punjabi singer and politician Sidhu Moose Wala. The accused was identified as 27-year-old Satbir Singh of Talwandi Rai Dadu in Ajnala in Amritsar.
CIA-II in-charge Beant Juneja said link of the accused came to the fore during questioning of Ludhiana-based transporter Baldev Chaudhary. He said Satbir had allegedly given weapons to three sharpshooters, including Manpreet Singh alias Money Raiya, Mandeep Singh alias Toofan and unidentified person, near a petrol pump at Bathinda.
The police officer said they are probing whether the accused had delivered these weapons for the murder of Moose Wala. He said they had got a tip-off that the accused along with three other miscreants, including Money Raiya, Mandeep Toofan — were going to Delhi in his Fortuner.
Juneja said whereas other three miscreants got down from the vehicle around Jalandhar, Satbir was arrested from a check-post near Jalandhar bypass. He said a country-made .32 bore pistol, two cartridges were seized from the accused.
Police officials said the accused was arrested and later booked under the Arms Act. His car was also impounded. They added that the accused lived near Wagah border.
Cops said a manhunt has been launched to arrest Money Raiya, Mandeep Toofan and their unidentified accomplice. The CIA-II in-charge said the accused was produced before a court which sent him to 7-day police remand.
