3 more schools planned at Goa University, says governor

PANAJI: Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai, who is also the chancellor of Goa University, on Thursday said that the National Education Policy (NEP) will lay the foundation for New India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, and expressed committment of the university to implement NEP in higher education.
The university, he said, has taken initiatives like amalgamation of various teaching departments into Ten Schools of Studies to make it flexible and provide a multi-disciplinary and holistic education. He said that three more schools are planned to be established under the varsity.
Delivering a lecture ‘Endless Journey to Achieve the Goal’ on the occasion of the university’s 38th Foundation Day, Pillai said that the university has grown steadily since its inception, expanding its reach both in terms of number of affiliated colleges, professional and general education, as well as the diversity of courses offered.
