UP RERA helps woman recover Rs 2.45 crore

LUCKNOW: After years of struggle, Rajeshwari Devi a resident of Lucknow has finally received Rs 2.45 crore along with interest.
In 2010 she had deposited an advance amount to a real estate developer for a villa in Lucknow.
Close to decade passed, but the builder failed to deliver Rajeshwari’s house. She approached UP RERA and after several months of legal battle she won the case.
Like her, nearly 1800 home buyers were helped to get back their money--Rs 285 crore in total.
According to UP RERA, “With the help of district magistrates we have been able to recover the amount with interest from real estate developers who failed to complete their projects and made the home buyers suffer for years.”
