Actor Rushad Rana is a part of the upcoming thriller comedy Miya Biwi Aur Murder. Directed by Sunil Manchanda, it also stars Rajeev Khandelwal and Manjari Fadnnis and will premiere on July 1 on MX Player.

Opening up about the show, Rushad says, “It’s an intriguing, gritty thriller, black comedy. I think this genre has been rarely explored. Either we watch out-and-out comedies or out-and-out thrillers. But this is a thriller comedy which I think is going to make it very interesting for audiences.”

When asked about his character in Miya Biwi Aur Murder, he shares, “I play Abbas, who is the don in the show. I didn’t have to do any homework, but I had to work on the look. As you can see, Abbas doesn’t look like how I look in real life. The dialogues have been very well-written. We discussed the character with utter clarity. What would be his expressions? Sunil explained it so minutely that we were clear on what he needed. So approaching the character was very easy.”

The actor is known for being a part of several TV shows. He looks at the highs and lows of his career as a blessing. “With the kind of mistakes I have made, I think in spite of that, my journey has turned out to be pretty good. In fact, in the last two years, post-Covid, things were very nice. I have been doing decent work on OTT, and I have also done a film which is all set to release on July 15. This movie release is happening after a long time for me. I have no regrets. So far, so good,” he explains.

Elaborating further, he adds, “The title is Judaa Hoke Bhi. It is director Vikram Bhatt’s sir comeback film. It is the first film in the Indian cinema to be entirely shot inside a studio with new LED technology. Whatever scenes I have watched during the dubbing sessions, the result is fantastic. Let’s just see how the public reacts to it. Hope this will change the future perceptions of shooting films.”

On a parting note, Rushad can’t stop raving about Vikram. “It was wonderful and an absolute treat to work with Vikram sir. He is absolutely a charming guy, very humorous and also knows what he wants to show and how he wants to shoot,” he concludes.
