VADODARA: M S University’s syndicate members during their meeting on Thursday will discuss the appeal filed by Kundan Kumar Mahato, a student of Faculty of Fine Arts, who was rusticated after a row over ‘objectionable’ artworks, last month. The members will also consider the replies that the university has received on show cause notices/ explanation letters that it received from teachers in connection to the display of artworks. Mahato has appealed to the university to reconsider its decision to debar him permanently. Senior artist and Padma Shri recipient Jyoti Bhatt too has come out in support of Mahato. Bhatt in a letter addressed to MSU vice-chancellor said that the artworks prepared by Mahato neither seem obscene nor objectionable to him and cannot be termed as obscene.
