Nirmala Sitharaman News Live: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will release the assessment report of the States and Union Territories under 'Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP), 2020' in the presence of Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal today. According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the BRAP report includes 301 reform points that cover 15 business regulatory areas such as access to Information, single window system, labour, environment, sectoral reforms and other reforms spanning across the lifecycle of a typical business. Sectoral reforms have been introduced for the first time in BRAP 2020 wherein 72 reforms were identified across 9 sectors, namely, trade licence, healthcare, legal metrology, cinema halls, hospitality, fire NOC, telecom, movie shooting and tourism, the Ministry said.

Death toll rises to 53 from human-trafficking tragedy in US Texas
The death toll of migrants found on Monday inside a sweltering 18-wheeler in San Antonio, a major city in the south-central U.S. state of Texas, has risen to 53 after two more migrants died, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office on Wednesday. Of the dead, 40 were male and 13 were female, the office said. Authorities said the tragedy saw the highest ever death count from human trafficking near the U.S.-Mexico border.
China reports 110 new COVID cases for June 29 vs 129 day earlier
China reported 110 new coronavirus cases for June 29, of which 33 were symptomatic and 77 were asymptomatic, the National Health Commission said on Thursday. That compared with 129 new cases a day earlier - 24 symptomatic and 105 asymptomatic infections, which China counts separately. There were no new deaths, leaving the nation's death count at 5,226. As of June 29, mainland China had confirmed 225,638 cases with symptoms.

Guterres calls for respecting all religions in aftermath of Udaipur killing
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday called for "full respect for all religions" in the aftermath of the killing of a Hindu man in Rajasthan's Udaipur. Sri Lankan President to visit UAE to procure fuel
Amid the fuel shortage in the country, Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is expected to visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the coming weeks to procure the fuel. Putin warns Sweden, Finland over NATO troops
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday warned Finland and Sweden that if they welcome NATO troops and military infrastructure onto their territory, Moscow will respond. While addressing a news conference in Turkmenistan, Putin said, "Only we must clearly and precisely understand -- while there was no threat before, in the case of military contingents and military infrastructure being deployed there, we will have to respond symmetrically and raise the same threats in those territories from where threats have arisen for us," Russian President said as quoted by CNN.

The fourth Synergy Conference between the Indian Army and Defence Accounts Department (DAD) was held in New Delhi on Tuesday. The day-long conference was co-chaired by Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS) Lt Gen BS Raju and Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) Rajnish Kumar and attended by senior officers of Indian Army and DAD.
