As intense rains continue to wreak havoc in Manipur's Noney, a massive landslide hit the company location of 107 Territorial Army of the Indian Army deployed near Tupul railway station in Manipur’s Noney district on Thursday.
The NF Railway CPRO has informed that landslide also stuck the track formation, camps of construction workers. Rescue operations in progress
Chief Minister N Biren Singh is constantly reviewing the situation and getting updates about the rescue operation. 19 people are already rescued, and injured ones are being treated at Noney Army Medical unit.
Evacuation of critically injured still in progress. Bad weather and fresh landslides are affecting rescue operations.
Seven people have lost their lives and their bodies have been recovered so far. Rescued people being shifted to hospital. Over 45 persons are still missing, said Solomon L Fimate, SDO of Noney district.
