Two attack scrap dealer after cars collide, arrested

Ludhiana: In an incident of road rage, two men attacked a scrap dealer at Ludhiana-Delhi National Highway, near Dhandari Bridge, on Tuesday night.
Victim Ajaypal Singh Sandhu, 38, a resident of Giaspura, said the accused also snatched his wallet containing Rs 45,000 and vandalized his car. On being informed, Sahnewal police swung into action and arrested the accused: Paramvir Pamma of Dehlon and Ranjodh Jodha of Sahnewal.
Ajaypal said he was going towards Focal Point in his car on Tuesday evening. “When I reached near Dhandari Bridge, a car intercepted my way. There were two men in it. The duo attacked me with a sharp-edged weapon and vandalized my car. To save myself, I fled from the spot, leaving my car on the road. When I returned, I found the two had taken my wallet containing Rs 45,000,” he added.
Police lodged an FIR against the accused under sections 379-B (snatching), 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of the IPC.
Sahnewal SHO inspector Pawan Kumar said, “During investigation, it was found that it was a case of road rage. The cars of Ajaypal and accused had collided after which they indulged in a spat. As the wallet of Ajaypal was found in the car, the snatching sections will be removed from the FIR.”
