Thane: A portion of ground plus four storey building collapsed on Thursday at around 3:25 pm in Rabodi at Thane (West). No casualties have been reported and all the occupants of 24 rooms on the ground plus a four-storey building have been relocated to their close relative's places.
Avinash Sawant, Regional Disaster Management Cell, RDMC, Thane chief said, "On Thursday, June 30 at around 3:25 pm we received a complaint in the disaster management room that the gallery of the first floor of Hamida building which is ground plus four storey building at Garib Nawaz Hotel near the abattoir at Rabodi in Thane district of Maharashtra collapsed and the rest floors are also in a dangerous condition. Soon after the call the disaster management officials, deputy office superintendent of a ward committee, executive engineer, deputy engineer and structure auditor Santosh Tatkare and fire brigade personnel reached the spot with one fire engine and initiated the rescue operation."
Sawant further added, "No casualties were reported at the spot also no one was injured. The building which is ground plus four structure has a total of 24 rooms. The building has been completely vacated now and the occupants of the building have been relocated to their close relative's places."
