The murder of a tailor yesterday sparked tension in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The killers - Gos Mohammad and Riyaz - entered Kanhaiya Lal's shop at a crowded market in the city and slit his throat with a cleaver, and even filmed the incident. The attackers have been arrested. The murder is being treated as a terror incident, sources in the government said. Large gatherings have been banned and internet suspended across Rajasthan for 24 hour.

The Union home ministry has directed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to take over the investigation of tailor Kanhaiya Lal's murder in Udaipur, Rajasthan, the ministry said in a tweet. The involvement of any organisation and international links will be thoroughly investigated, it said.

Rajasthan Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria reached the MB Government Hospital in Udaipur today to meet the family of Kanhaiya Lal, who was killed yesterday. "Police should've provided protection when he asked for it and after his shop was closed for 4-5 days. It was a 100% failure of police," he said.
"Violence and extremism are unacceptable, no matter what! I strongly condemn what happened in Udaipur. As law takes its own course of action, I urge everyone to maintain peace," said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
