Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned senior Shiv Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut again on Friday in a money-laundering case, people in the know told ET.
Raut has been asked to present himself before the agency’s Ballard Pier office in Mumbai at 11am on Friday, the people said. This after the agency refused the reasons cited by the leader to skip summons on Tuesday.
Raut's lawyer who reached the ED's office seeking time told reporters that time was sought as the summons had reached late and they were not in the position to provide the documents.
A close confidant of Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, the Rajya Sabha member has been at the forefront in taking on the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena rebels who have put the MVA government in deep crisis.
