[Update: June 2022 Security Patch] Realme 8s and 8i Updates Tracker

The Chinese giant extended its Realme 8 series with the introduction of two new variants— Realme 8s and 8i. The smartphones feature an IPS LCD panel with an Android 11 based Realme UI 2.0 out of the box. Realme 8s and 8i are powered by Octa-core processors based on Mediatek chipsets. There’s a triple rear camera and a single selfie sensor at the front.

• [June 30, 2022]: The Indian variants of the Realme 8s are getting a new update with June 222 security patch. The build arrives on the firmware version RMX3381_11 _A.12 which also addresses some known issues and improves system stability.

• [May 9, 2022]: Realme 8s is getting a new update on the firmware version RMX3181_11_A.11. The build packs the April 2022 security patch, resolves some issues, and improves system stability.

• [March 25, 2022]: Realme 8i is receiving the March 2022 security patch via a new update. The build is rolling out in India via the firmware version RMX3152_11_A.41. Besides, it resolves some issues and improves system stability.

• [February 9, 2022]: The Realme 8i is getting a new update in India via the firmware version RMX3151_11_A.38/40. The build optimizes the system performance and improves the system stability. Also, it packs the January 2022 and February 2022 security patches.

• [February 9, 2022]: The Realme 8s 5G is getting a new update in India via build number RMX3381_11_A.09. The build packs the January 2022 security patch. Also, it resolves some known issues and optimizes system stability.

• [January 5, 2021]: December 2021 security patch is rolling out to the Realme 8i. The update is live in India via firmware version RMX3151_11_A.35. Also, it improves system stability by addressing several issues.

• [December 2, 2021]: Realme 8i is grabbing the November 2021 security patch update in India. It will carry the build number RMX3151_11_A.32 weighing 300MB in size. Also, it carries a variety of fixes and several under the hood improvements.
• [October 28, 2021]: The Realme 8s 5G is receiving a new update in India on the firmware version RMX3381_11.A.06. The update carries the October 2021 security patch. Alongside, it also optimizes touch screen experience, device stability, and fixes some known issues.

• [October 8, 2021]: The Realme 8i is receiving a new update that brings September 2021 security patch. The software carries the firmware version RMX3152_11_A.21 weighing 304 MB in size. Additionally, it also resolves some known issues and improves system stability. This includes the low probability issue where the screen can not be turned off through the power key.

As usual, Realme is releasing the updates in a phase-wise manner. Therefore, it will reach all the units within a week. Alternatively, you can also check the update status manually by heading over to Settings > Software updates > Check for the updates. Also, we suggest you switch over to a WiFi network to avoid carrier data charges.
