VADODARA: A woman allegedly killed her six-year-old son in Savli taluka and dumped the body near an electricity pole in the field to make it look like an accident. On Tuesday, Savli police arrested the woman Sumitra Baria and her paramour Kishan Raval.
According to the police, Baria, a native of Panchmahal district, was married to Mukesh Parmar eight years ago. The couple had two children.
However, she got into a relationship with Raval who stays in Kalol taluka of Panchmahal district a year ago. She and her husband often had heated arguments as she used to travel frequently to Kalol and was allegedly not looking after her kids.
On Sunday, Raval came to meet Baria when her husband wasn’t at home but some neighbours spotted him. They caught hold of Raval and informed Baria’s parents as well as her husband about it. Baria’s parents and husband tried to convince her to break off the extra-marital affair. However, she didn’t pay any heed to their requests.
On Monday afternoon, Baria strangled her son to death. Baria wasn’t able to meet Raval freely due to the child’s presence and it seems to have angered her.
