Saalumarada Thimmakka’s b’day tomorrow

Hubballi: Members of Bhartiya Ayyappa Seva Sangha will participate in the 111th birthday celebration of noted environmentalist and Padma Shri Saalumarada Thimmakka to be organised by Saalumarada Thimmakka International Foundation and other associations at Dr BR Ambedkar Bhavan in Bengaluru on Thursday.
Sangha general secretary Shivappa Barki said on Tuesday that hundreds of environmentalists from across the state are travelling to Bengaluru for the event. From Dharwad, more than 300 members are going to the event at their own expense, he said.
Siddharta Education Society, Tumkuru is also one of the organisers, he added. Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai will inaugurate the event. Barki requested environmentalists from the twin cities to participate in the event. Mohan G, Basavaraj N and others were present.
