Union minister takes a tour of Belagavi dist

Belagavi: Union minister of state for commerce and industries, Som Prakash had a busy day in the border district on Tuesday, visiting various places in the city, and later paying a visit to the rural pockets of Belagavi. Prakash took stock of ongoing work on various central projects.
Prakash kicked off his day with a visit to the historical Kamal Basadi, followed by visits to the Durgadevi temple and the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram. He held discussions with the seers of the ashram, querying them about Swami Vivekananda’s sojourn in Belagavi city. Swami Vivekananda stayed in Belagavi city for nine days.
Prakash lunched with a family belonging to a Scheduled Caste community in Hindalaga village, before he visited a government school in Halaga, where he took stock of the implementation of the midday meal scheme. He also visited Kolikopp village, where he inspected the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission project, under which households are being supplied water through taps.
The Union minister subsequently visited Rani Channamma Mini Zoo at Bhootaramanahatti, accompanied by MP Annasaheb Jolle.
Belagavi district in-charge minister Govind Karjol, Belagavi MP Mangala Angadi, MLAs Abhay Patil, Anil Benake, Belagavi deputy commissioner Nitesh Patil, and zilla panchayat chief executive officer Darshan HV accompanied Prakash on his tour of the district.
